Announced in November 2022 to coincide with Bachmann Europe’s Winter 2022 British Railway Announcements, we are delighted to present this Limited Edition N scale BR Mk1 BG No. 92904 in the attractive Northern Belle Maroon and Cream colour scheme. Based on the Graham Farish N scale Mk1 BG, our model is highly detailed and carries a wonderful rendition of this colourful livery. Fitted with B4 bogies, the model includes NEM coupling pockets mounted on a close coupling mechanism.

HISTORY

The Northern Belle train service was launched in the year 2000 – providing luxury excursions to popular destinations across the UK. The company operates a train of up to thirteen coaches, formed of BR Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 types. Each coach has been refurbished into the style of the luxury Pullman coaches of yesteryear and painted into the company’s eye-catching Maroon and Cream livery with ornate crests and gold lettering, providing pure indulgence for their passengers.

No. 92904 was converted during the 1990s for use as a Baggage Car – providing secure storage of passengers’ luggage as part of the Northern Belle train. The vehicle was built by Pressed Steel in 1956 and entered service with BR as No. M80867. The coach was later equipped for dual braking and heating and was fitted with B4 bogies allowing 100mph running.
