This East Lancs bodied Leyland Leopard bus, built to the standard 30ft BET (British Electric Traction) design, was operated by the Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee. Todmorden buses interestingly carried both the Corporation crest and the crest of the London Midland & Scottish Railway, all of which made these vehicles look very attractive.
With Nationalisation of the railways and other transport concerns in 1948, the LMS crest was replaced by progressive versions of the British Railway logos and then around 1970 the BR emblems were finally removed. Our model features fleet number 37, registered 573 EYG while operating on a 'Rail Replacement Service' at the time of the pending closure of many railway lines. Carrying the all-embracing standard British Railways logo, this model is sure to enhance a wide variety of railway layouts covering many parts of the country.
